Let's go to Mexico!

Mexico beckons with a vibrant tapestry! Explore ancient Mayan ruins like Chichen Itza, then unwind on the Riviera Maya's dazzling beaches. Dive into rich culture in colonial cities, and tantalize your taste buds with fiery cuisine. Mexico offers adventure for every soul!

A few things to remember...

  • Do yourself a favor and eat the food (but don't drink the tap water)!
  • Buy tickets & tours in advance (especially if you have limited time).
  • Learn some basic Spanish (Español)
  • Pack for the climate (check out our tropical packing list here)

Best time to visit

Craving turquoise waters and Mayan mysteries, but not a fan of crowds or scorching heat? Mexico's got your back, amigo. Shoulder seasons (SPRING and FALL) are the sweet spot. Beaches are blissfully unjammed, historical sites won't feel like a sweaty mosh pit, and your wallet will thank you for skipping peak season.

  • November - April = dry and mild
  • August - October = full heat

Tecate & Tijuana Missions

We started our trips to Mexico on our honeymoon 20 years ago in Puerto Villarta (off the hook resorts!), but many of our other times in Mexico have been in volunteer and mission work type capacities. We have specifically spent time in the Red Light District of Tijuana with rescue efforts we can't share here, but more recently worked with The Mission (La Mision) in Tecate! They are doing a fantastic work with orphans, families, and poor communities (and receive volunteers)!
