We started Our Plucky Life because we believe that what you can experience while globetrotting is one of the most enriching experiences one can have in life. Stepping out of your comfort zone, experiencing new languages, people, natural beauty, sites, sounds, tastes, and smells are amazing. We wanted to create a platform where we can share our passion for travel and inspire others to explore the world with a bit of courage and risk, as well as eyes to see where you can bring impact!
We aren't your typical travelers
We are a family that loves to travel the world and encounter different people, places, experiences, unknowns, and adventures! We've lived on 4 continents, traveled to 40+ countries, and have had quite unique experiences in our globe trotting. Our early experiences in travel came from years spent doing NGO & community development work in Africa, Asia, and South America. Favorite destinations?
We have loved everywhere we've traveled... but a few have stood out.:
+ SOUTH AFRICA - after living here for 7 years, we have absolutely fallen in love with the country and could definitely move back (and might)!
+ KYRGYZSTAN - we lived here for 6 months doing a wide variety of NGO work that was amazing! It was our first ex-Soviet country, and we fell in love with the people and town of Karakol that we lived in! Great holiday packages for this central asian country too.
+ CALIFORNIA - our current home! The Redwoods, giant sequioas, mountains, cultural cities like San Fransisco, the Lost Coast, Napa Valley, and other national parks... we love it!
+ AUSTRALIA- as dual citizens with Australia as well, so much of this unique continent continues to captivate us. Even with our familiarity, the bush, animals, and ocean will always be a home. Places like Sydney with its iconic structures and numerous nationals parks, make this island a piece of paradise!
