We're Jeremy & Bridget, and welcome to our little corner of the internet. You might be wondering why our travel blog seems a little...different. While we have plenty of five-star resorts, restaurants, and destinations – our start into the plucky life was with "off the beaten path" exploits.
We spent 15 years volunteering with NGOs and community development projects around the world. From rickety huts nestled along the Myanmar border in Thailand to bustling Windhoek, Namibia, where we helped build an orphanage, our experiences have been far from the usual vacation brochure. We trekked the backroads, learned new languages (well, Bridget learned a few phrases, Jeremy mostly just smiled a lot), and ate some truly unforgettable meals (we'll spare the details).
These deeper dives into local cultures and communities totally hooked us. We fell in love with the unexpected connections, the chance to see the world through a different lens, and the the ability to make a lasting impact in a person as well as a communities life.
So, that's why you won't always find us lounging on beaches (which we love), because ultimately we're all about the raw, the real, and the unforgettable.
